Lucky Mark (12.40 Southwell)
Twice successful over course and distance last winter and is steadily finding his form. Finished a good second here last week in a race that is beginning to work out well. On a good mark and fancied to go one better.
Play Nicely (1.40 Southwell)
A wide-margin winner here on Tuesday when stepped up to today’s trip for the first time and is very well-in under a 6lb penalty.
Bright New Dawn (2.20 Fairyhouse)
After failing to complete on his first two starts this season, the Gordon Elliott-trained chaser returned to form with a couple of solid efforts in Grade 2, finishing second to Road To Riches at Clonmel and to Felix Yonger at Navan. With Jack Kennedy claiming a valuable 5lb, the nine-year-old gets the vote to score for the first time in almost two years.
Charlie Lad (3.40 Southwell)
The son of Myboycharlie was never far away before finishing third over course and distance early last month and next time did well to stick on for second at Wolverhampton having disputed a strong early pace (the other leader dropped away). That early pace could be crucial at a track where a prominent early pitch is a big advantage over 5f and Paddy Bradley, who is arguably the best of the apprentices on show, is an encouraging jockey booking.
