Muscutt breaks bones in neck, back and ribs in Chelmsford fall

Jockey Daniel Muscutt was left with a broken bone in his neck, several broken vertebrae and a broken rib after a sickening fall at Chelmsford on Thursday evening.

Andy Waitt, clerk of the course at Chelmsford, said on Friday: “Unfortunately, Dan Muscutt has broken a bone in his neck, three in his back and a rib.

“He’s stable in hospital and will spend a couple more days in there for assessment, but they have no plans to operate on him.”
