Budget tax cuts only for the smallest bookmakers

Sharon Byrne of the Irish Bookmakers Association says proposed tax cuts designed to help the Irish betting industry will be of benefit only to the country’s smallest, independent operations.

Irish finance minister Paschal Donohoe revealed a two per cent tax cut on the first €50,000 of turnover for all Irish bookmakers in an effort to alleviate pressure on smaller firms, as part of his 2020 budget.
