Wednesday 11th March 2015 maybe an insignificant date for many but for the 18 owners who attended The Cheltenham Festival to watch The Wallace Line in The Fred Winter it is a day/date that will not be forgotten.
Each year we all dream/hope of a horse that can take us to the big meetings, the big days and after The Wallace Line finished third in The Grade One at Chepstow back in December we were hopeful he would be the one.
Although conditions were against him he never let us down and ran a fine race staying on powerfully up the famous Cheltenham Hill, given a lovely ride by young Alan Johns.
To have a runner at the festival was a privilege and to quote one of his owners Ali Scott whose owned many horses himself “I’ve been waiting 25 years to have a runner at the festival and I’ve now achieved it”.
Hopefully we’ll be back there again next season with Wallace and a few others.
