32Red receives £2 million penalty for failing to protect customer

Bookmarker, 32Red have been fined £2 million by the Gambling Commission after failing to protect a problem gambler.

During November 2014 and up until April 2017, the punter deposited a total of £758,000, without the correct money laundering and social checks being made.

32Red failed to see the customer was a problem gambler and needed help, instead 32Red staff applied bonuses to the customer’s account.

The punter had told staff they were frustrated with their losses, and were chasing them. They also expressed concerns about the amount of money they were spending with the firm.
