Spice Progressing Nicely

“Spice Up Your Life” stepped up on her debut fourth at Beverley earlier in the month when finishing third at Redcar on Tuesday.

Upped in trip to 6f, Spice was settled just behind the leaders by Tony Hamilton and threw down her challenge with 2f left to run and finished a running on third beaten just over 3 lengths.

Tony also said that in time a further step up in trip will be required but he feels “she will be a lovely filly given time to develop”, interestingly Tony also said he felt the race ran like a “decent maiden” and the time backs up Tony’s thoughts.

Like at Beverley on her debut, Spice is still holding onto her winter coat and will really benefit from some warmer weather. Richard Fahey also reports that she will get stronger throughout the season because she is still on the leggy side which makes her performance more pleasing knowing that there is more to come and she will continue to progress.
