Triassic was purchased from the Tattersalls HIT sales in October last year, there were 2 horses that we were particularly interested in at that sale, Mazaaher and Triassic. Mazaaher has done very well for Diamond Racing, winning and being placed second three times in his last 6 starts and the other was Triassic.
Triassic was a fairly decent 2yr old being placed 5 times and running to an RPR of 77 and on 2 occasions was unlucky not to have won, he cost £32,000.00 as a yearling and is well related and bred to improve with age.
At 3yrs he was kept very busy, he did run some fair races on the a/w and his final start was 2 days before the sales and he finished 5th of 13 at Chelmsford over 1m 5f.
When we got Triassic home we found a number of small issues but add them all together it was easy to understand why Triassic wasn’t showing his form. Having given Triassic a real break he’s grown considerably over the past 4 months and physically is a different horse, he is a happy horse who is now very interactive having been stand offish and nervous.
Having been ran often last season his mark tumbled almost 25lbs from his first season but his final start when finishing 5th of 13 shows that he still retains ability, he also finished 3rd at Chelmsford a month before I bought him so the ability is there. We feel that he was in need of a break having been ran so often but having found a number of issues that we have sorted we are convinced that once back on the track he is more than capable of improving towards the type of form in showed at 2yrs.
We intend to give Triassic an a/w campaign during the winter, so he will be running during the winter months until the start of the turf season in April of 2018.
Triassic could be a very well handicapped indeed and we have priced him to cover all possibilities, he is the cheapest syndicate we have ever offered.
We have spent thousands on Triassic getting him back into shape but at this cost level we feel it will give everyone the opportunity to get involved in racehorse ownership.
We expect Triassic to make his debut for us towards the end of October, early November.
