Diamond Racing have purchased a horse with the phenomenol potential of reaching the heights over both the flat and National Hunt codes.

El Maachi's brother Tasheba won on the flat at 7 furlongs when trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam running to a PM of 91 before being sent hurdling with Nicky Henderson. Tasheba has won a Listed hurdle and finished 2nd in a grade 2 and is rated 152.

His other brother Flaneur won as a 2 year old over 6 furlongs and is now progressing and has just recorded a PM of 82. This horse is expected to make into a 100+ horse by connections.

We purchased El Maachi prior to these ratings and black type performances being achieved. We would never have been able to afford him now.

El Maachi made a very promising debut when finishing 6th beaten just over 2L in a decent Sandown maiden. El Maachi continued his progress with a fine 3rd from a poor draw at Thirsk on 9th August 2010.
